How It Works

Equipment:    To receive the internet a small radio antenna is mounted on your roof.  This antenna is aligned to our transmission tower.   The radio operates at 2.4Ghz and does not interfere with your radio, television, or cell phone signals.  The radio is attached to your computer using a cat5 networking cable.  If you have multiple computers the antenna is attached to a router.  Each of your computers are then connected to the router, either by wireless networking, or using traditional networking cables.   To connect to the internet you simply enter your username and password and hit connect! The internet connects in less that 3 seconds, and best of all it doesn't tie up your phone line!  Your connection to the internet can remain on for as long as you like, and all of your computers can use the internet at the same time.

INTERFERENCE:  Things that can inhibit your ability to receive the internet include terrain,  High voltage power lines in close proximity to your house, or if your house is in a low area.   In very rare cases cordless telephones that operate at the same frequency as our equipment can cause interference.  This only applies to cordless phones that operate in the 2.4Ghz band, and use Spread spectrum modulation.   In these rare cases, you can usually program your telephone to work on a different channel, to avoid the interference.

SECURITY:  Our service uses VPN encryption from your antenna to our tower.  This assures that everything you do is completely private, and only available to you.  Wireless networking technology has recently become a target for hackers, and people who want to get FREE internet by pirating the air waves.  Rest assured you are protected by state of the art 128bit encryption to prevent you from becoming a target.  For added security, consider purchasing a router/firewall.  This protects your computer from all unauthorized use, and provides you the ability to network up to 4 computers.

Applications:  Our service can be tailored to your special requirements.  Special applications include, digital surveillance, website hosting, or connecting to a corporate virtual private Network to work from home.  All of this is possible with  high speed internet.  At Bradco Internet, we are here to make sure you get the most of your internet connection.

Macintosh Users:  Macintosh computers do not support our VPN encryption.  To get around this a router is placed between your computer and the antenna.  The router is then used to establish the VPN link to our server.   Your mac is connected to the router using a usb cable or a cat5 networking cable.  You can connect and share the internet with both macs and PCs on the same network.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:   Your computer will need a network interface card to connect with the roof top antenna.  If you do not have a network card, we can install one for you for $24.99 or you can purchase one at any electronics store.  The following table shows which operating systems support our VPN encryption.  If your operating system does not support VPN encryption you can still get Bradco Internet, but you will require a router to establish a connection.   Our technicians are not qualified to install software on unsupported operating systems.
